Mervyn King speaks - Sterling movement?

All eyes are on Mervyn King (head of the MPC) this morning as he delivers a press conference which could lead to volatility in the market dependent on what he says. A positive talk for the U.K could lead to Sterling strength and negative weakness.

Yesterday sterling lost ground against most major currencies due to David Blanchflower (another member of the MPC) announcing he is in favour of a rate cut and would like to see one sooner rather than later.

For those of you who do not read our reports on a regular basis, a rate hike is generally positive for the currency concerned and a cut negative.

For anyone with an upcoming transfer who wishes to discuss future data due out, and how it may affect how much it will cost please feel free to get in touch.
